There was pin-drop silence at Dhaka’s Crown Digital Lab audio studio as emerging baul singer Baul Delowar was singing ‘Dibanishi Kandi Boshi Murshid Tor Ashaye”, a song for Bangla feature film ‘Border’, which is directed by popular filmmaker Saikat Nasir. The song is penned by Sufi Dewan Chisty and composed by Rana Akand. ‘Border’ will be released in cinema halls after the Eid-ul-Fitr.
Talking to this correspondent Baul Delowar said: “It is my immense pleasure and honor getting chance to playback in a movie of Saikat Nasir sir. This is my debut playback in any film. I hope listeners will like the song/ I am extreme grateful to Saikat Nasir sir and the lyricists and composers of the song for giving me this opportunity.
Baul Delowar said, he has been regularly performing in various parts of Bangladesh as well on Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar.
Delowar said, “I render my respects to all the listeners of my songs, including my grandfather and my guru Abdul Khaliq Boyati and Ustad Shamser Ali Boyati”.
He said, “Music is in my blood and I can’t breathe without music”.
Commenting on Delowar, eminent film director Kabirul Islam (Apurba Rana) said, ‘I have heard Delwar’s songs. He sings from his heart. In future I also will have him for playback song in my future project. I am delighted knowing Baul Delowar has made his debut as playback singer in the movie ‘Border’, which is directed by Saikat Nasir. I wish the entire team of ‘Border’ a grand success”.
