After being almost blacked-out from the social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, Donald Trump has finally decided to launch his own social media network named ‘MAGA’, which will be launched within weeks of his leaving the White House.
Meanwhile, days before he leave White House, President Trump will declassify hundreds of secret documents centering Hillary Clinton’s email scandal and former president Barack Obama’s frantic bids in using federal agencies in manufacturing Russia hoax.
It should be mentioned here that, millions of tax-payers dollars were wasted in the name of investigating Russia’s interference into 2016 presidential election.
Rudy Giuliani has urged President Trump to declassify all of the documents related to the efforts by the administration of Barack Obama and then Vice President Biden to undermine Trump even before he took office.
“He owes it, not just to MAGA, he owes it to the American people to put it out,” Giuliani said.
Trump’s social media platform ‘MAGA’
According to sources, Donald Trump has become adamant in starting his own social media platform, which would be used by millions of his fans and followers in the US and the world. Possible name of the platform will be ‘MAGA’, through which, Trump is planning to launch his early campaign for the 2024 presidential election and boost the morale of his supporters. After leaving the White House, he will concentrate on this project.
It is unclear as to how Donald Trump can succeed in making his own social media platform popular as well as easily accessible without being accepted by the Google and Apple play-stores.
Meanwhile, another source said, Donald Trump is not going to launch any new social media platform. Instead, he is going to acquire an existing site.
Regarding launching his own social media site, Donald Trump said: “I long predicted this would happen,” Trump wrote in regards to the ban. “We have been negotiating with various other sites, and will have a big announcement soon, while we also look at the possibilities of building out our own platform in the near future. We will not be SILENCED!”
Which “other sites” the outgoing President might be planning to partner with wasn’t mentioned in his statement. But the Trump-friendly social media app Parler is already facing trouble.
On the same day, tech giant Google said it pulled Parler from the Google Play Store over concerns its pro-Trump users have been making calls for violence. “In light of this ongoing and urgent public safety threat, we are suspending the app’s listings from the Play Store until it addresses these issues,” the company said in a statement.
Trump’s Twitter ban occurs as the major tech companies have begun cracking down on apps and services pro-Trump supporters have been using out of fear they’ll incite more violence. “Plans for future armed protests have already begun proliferating on and off-Twitter, including a proposed secondary attack on the US Capitol and state capitol buildings on January 17, 2021,” Twitter wrote in a blog post announcing the Trump ban.
On Friday, TheDonald.win, another pro-Trump forum, also saw its chatroom server shut down by its operator Discord. “We have a zero-tolerance policy against hate and violence of any kind on the platform, or the use of Discord to support or organize around violent extremism,” Discord said in a statement.
“While there is no evidence of that server being used to organize the Jan 6 riots, Discord decided to ban the server called TheDonald today due to its overt connection to an online forum used to incite violence, plan an armed insurrection in the United States, and spread harmful misinformation related to 2020 US election fraud,” the company added.
