Shooting of a film on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib continues in Dhaka

The shooting of a film named ‘Jonok O Shontan’ (Father and the child) has started in Dhaka on December 8, 2019. The film is based on the story written by Shoaib Choudhury, while screenplay and dialogues are by prominent Bangladeshi writer Ferari Farhad. Freedom fighter and film director Nur Muhammed Moni is directing the movie.

Prominent Bangladeshi actor Rani Ahad and Ahsan Habib Nasim are played lead roles in the film, while Mahmudul Islam Mithu (Borda Mithu), Binoy Bhodro, Iqbal, Reshmee and others are playing important roles in the film. Other members of the unit are SD Babul (Director of Photography), RN Rumpa (Chief Assistant Director), Arif Hussain (Assistant Director), Jahangir Hasan (Makeup), Sanowar Hussain (Costume) and Gias Uddin (Unit management).

Commenting on this film, writer Ferari Farhad said, “Writing screenplay and dialogue for a film on Bangabandhu is a matter of high esteem for any writer. I am confident, people will accept this film.

Actor Rani Ahad said, “I am getting emotional in each of the sequences as this film is related to Bangabandhu. I am honored to be a part of this film”.

She said, “I will try to give my best in this film and sincerely hope, people will appreciate our work”.

The title song of the film is written and tuned by Shoaib Choudhury. Music of this film is directed by Kazi Jamal. Promising singer Debashish Debu has given voice to it.

Commenting on the song, Rani Ahad said, “Its simply mind-blowing. The lyrics and the tune are mesmeric and it surely will touch the heart of the listeners. I have been listening to this song repeatedly as this song is getting me more melted into the story and my character in the film”.

Director Nur Muhammed Moni said, “Being a freedom fighter, to me Bangabandhu always has a very special place. The story and screenplays of this film are extremely powerful. It clearly reflects the degree of love, affection, and respect of each of the Bangalis has for our father of the nation”.

‘Jonok O Shontan’ is produced by Crown Entertainment. The executive producer is Tajul Islam.

Talking to Blitz, Tajul Islam said, “We are working hard to complete the film by December and it will be released in March on the occasion of the birth centennial of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman”.

He said, “We are requesting the members of local and international media to extend their fullest support to this film. We strongly believe, this film will be appreciated in various international film festivals”.
