Bangladesh Armed Forces Day

Acting chairman of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Tarique Rahman, who faces life-term imprisonment in 10-trucks arms haul case has been invited by Trump-hater Muhammad Yunus at the reception on the occasion of Bangladesh Armed Forces Day, which will take place at Sena Kunja convention center at the Dhaka Cantonment. This program will be attended by Muhammad Yunus, advisors of the interim regime, high-ranking civil-military officials, politicians, journalists and social elites. It is unknown if Yunus regime has invited any of the members of Awami League or the members of its 14-party alliance.

Meanwhile, according to information, leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami are also invited in the program.

State-owned Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) in a report said, “Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir have been invited to join the programme of Armed Forces Day on November 21.

“Armed Forces Division today reached the invitation letters to BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office in the capital. BNP chairperson’s personal secretary ABM Abdus Sattar received the letters, the party’s media cell said. Twenty three other leaders of BNP including its standing committee members were invited”.

It may be mentioned here that Tarique Rahman has been living in exile since 2008. He was handed life-term imprisonment in the 10-trucks arms haul case.

According to India Today, Major General Gaganjit Singh, who retired as Deputy Director General of India’s Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), in an exclusive interview said, the arms were being supplied by taking advantage of the then BNP-Jamaat alliance to use Bangladesh as a sanctuary.

According to Gen Singh, a huge consignment of weapons – 10 trucks full of arms – seized at Chittagong in April 2004 was meant not only for the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) but also for a few other rebel groups in India’s Northeast to destabilize the country.

From the first week of this month, the High Court Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court began hearing into the appeal challenging the verdict that handed life-term imprisonment to Tarique Rahman.

Meanwhile, it may be mentioned here that following fleeing Bangladesh on August 5, Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina took refuge in India. Following her fleeing the country, Islamists began mayhem targeting Hindus in the country by labelling them as collaborators of Sheikh Hasina and Awami League.

The persecution of Hindus has reached an alarming level, where leaders of pro-Caliphate Hefazat-e-Islam had openly called for slaughtering Hindus and members of ISKCON.

During her rule, Sheikh Hasina has been a top-patron of Hefazat-e-Islam for which she was conferred “Kaumi Janani” [Mother of the Koranic Madrassas] by the organization. Hasina also has been extremely supportive to Palestinians and Hamas while she had publicly demonized Jews and branded them as “evils”.
