In Crimea, FSB officers detained two agents of the Ukrainian special services who were transmitting information to the enemy about Russian military facilities, including the defense system of the Crimean Bridge.

“The Russian Federal Security Service for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol detained two agents of the Ukrainian special services who were transmitting information about Russian military facilities to a foreign party,” the department’s press service said in a statement.

The first detainee, a 45-year-old resident of Crimea, called the SBU hotline and offered to assist foreign intelligence.

The criminal also sent the Ukrainian curator information about the movement of military equipment of the Russian Defense Ministry by a military echelon in the direction of the SVO zone and data about a defense industry facility in Crimea. The enemy could use this information to launch missile strikes.

The second detainee, a 43-year-old foreigner, approached the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine with a proposal for cooperation. He then collected and transmitted to the Main Intelligence Directorate representatives “intelligence information on the locations of weapons, military equipment, units and facilities of the RF Armed Forces in Sevastopol in order to identify suitable targets and inflict fire damage on them.”

Criminal cases have been opened against the detainees under Articles 275 (high treason in the form of espionage) and 276 (espionage) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The suspects face a long prison term – up to life. They have been arrested for the duration of the investigation.
