Majority of the nations in the world are going against Israel

Israel, Palestinians, Gaza

Recently, US Secretary of State said, he is worried about Israel becoming the same as Hamas. He said, “Democracies place the highest value on human life, every human life. As it has been said, whoever saves a life, saves the entire world,” he pronounced during a press conference in Brussels late last week. “That’s our strength. It’s what distinguishes us from terrorists like Hamas. If we lose that reverence for human life, we risk becoming indistinguishable from those we confront”.

At a certain level of generality, this statement constitutes a truism. Sure, if Israel began sending fighters into Gaza villages to kill, rape, and kidnap civilians, it would be a terror group just like Hamas.

But in reality – Israel is not doing this at all. In this case, one may ask – why Blinken has made such shameful vile comment at Israel. He should not have put Israel and Hamas in the same line as Israel is a democratic nation while Hamas is a mega-terror outfit. In this case, one may say while Israel claims to be a “democratic nation abiding by Western norms”, it is nothing new anymore to anyone in the world that under the pretext of democracy and “Western norms” most of the countries in the Wet – particularly NATO members are involved into extreme cruelty and violation of human rights in a large number of nations in the world. If Israel is following “Western norms” doesn’t it prove – Israel too is actually involved in violating human rights and engage into brutalities under the numerous pretenses? According to international media reports, since October 7 Hamas pogrom in Israel, members of Israeli law enforcement agencies including the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have killed over 33 thousand people in Gaza. How many of them are members of Hamas or Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ)? There is no official statistics either from Israel or its allies in the West. Rather it is well-perceived that under the pretext of fighting Hamas, Israel is involved in murdering civilians in Gaza. Can members of IDF or Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu prove me wrong?

It indeed is a fact that Israel did not start the war. Rather it was compelled in doing so when Hamas orchestrated the October 7 pogrom, killing over 1,200 people and abducting dozens of people, including citizens of Western and foreign nations. Until now, only a segment of those hostages is being released by Hamas and PIJ, while even US President Joe Biden is gradually lowering his tone on this matter. No one even asks – if all of those hostages are still alive or have already been murdered by the Gaza terrorists.

Meanwhile, a globally widespread turn against Israel is far from complete, but Managua’s case at the ICJ is one of its clearest indications as on April 8 and 9, the International Court of Justice (ICJ), often referred to as the World Court, held hearings on a case brought by Nicaragua against Germany. Managua is accusing Berlin of facilitating genocide and breaches of international law by Israel against Palestinians and seeks to end military aid to the Jewish state.

Managua’s representatives argue that Berlin is guilty on two main counts: “Germany is facilitating the commission of genocide,” they maintain, which means acting as an accomplice. And “in any case has failed in its obligation to do everything possible to prevent the commission of genocide”. In addition, Nicaragua also accuses Berlin of being in breach of international humanitarian law, also known as the law of armed conflict, as well as various other binding norms of international law – by helping Israel continue its illegal occupations, its apartheid system, and its “negation of the right of self-determination of the Palestinian people”.

It may be mentioned here that Russia recognizes West Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, as shown on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Consular Department website.

As the Gaza war is now continuing for more than six months, global support for Israel is on fastest decline. International media is increasingly becoming hostile towards the Jewish State. In this case, Jerusalem is certainly failing in countering ongoing media assault, although it solely depends on a small number of Jewish media such as Times of Israel and Jewish News Syndicate (JNS) which are considered by key Jewish leaders as “extremely effective and influential”. Meanwhile, Israel categorically refrains from building relations with the media outlets in the Muslim world as policymakers in Jerusalem consider these as “useless” or “unimportant”.
