Bharatmala Project: Administration forcibly started NH work in Patna, MLA stopped it

On Wednesday morning near Jagshala of Noniabigha village of Dhanrua in Patna district, the administration used force on the farmers and drove them away from there. After this, the work of leveling was started on the land acquired for the construction of expressway NH-119D from Amas (Aurangabad) to Jaynagar (Madhubani) to be constructed under Bharatmala project forcibly in the presence of police. Here, hundreds of villagers gathered on the spot raised slogans regarding this, but they could not walk in front of the fear of the police.

MLA stopped work

Meanwhile, local MLA Rekha Devi reached the spot on Wednesday afternoon and got the work stopped as per the pre-scheduled programme. While holding a meeting with the senior officials of the local administration gathered on the spot, he announced that the work will remain closed until the DM comes on the spot and solves the problems of the farmers. With this the work stopped.

Farmers are protesting for compensation

It is noteworthy that the farmers of more than half a dozen villages of Dhanrua block are agitating for the compensation of the acquired land for a week. On Tuesday, after completing the leveling work in Manikbigha, the local administration forcibly started the work near Jagshala located in Nonayabigha village of Chest Panchayat in the presence of a large number of police force.

The MLA, who arrived after the uproar by the farmers, held a meeting at the community building at Noniabigha. Apart from the MLA, SDO Preeti Kumari, ASP Shubham Arya, DCLR Amit Kumar Patel, BDO cum CO Shailja Pandey, CO Mrityunjay Kumar of Draft, Madhumita, Revenue Officer of Dhanrua, Land Acquisition Officer Ranjan Kumar Chowdhary and others were present in the meeting. The MLA accused the local administration that they convey their message to the DM, but the matter of the farmers is not conveyed there by you.

The MLA questioned that when the government charges fees according to four different criteria for land registry. The above criteria include agricultural, residential, commercial and progressive. He asked why this criterion is not being adopted in compensation. On the other hand, MLA representative Upendra Kumar alleged that the farmer who gives two percent of the compensation amount to the land acquisition officer gets the compensation immediately. The one who does not make an offering is made to walk.
