Fatehpur, May 16 (Hindustan Times). An uncontrolled truck hit a tempo full of passengers on Tuesday afternoon near Chilli Mod in Jehanabad police station area of Fatehpur district in Uttar Pradesh. In the accident, nine people traveling in the tempo died on the spot, while two people were seriously injured. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have expressed deep grief over this accident.
Additional Superintendent of Police Vijay Shankar Mishra said that nine of the 11 people traveling in the tempo died in the road accident. They have been identified as Anil (32), his wife Yashoda Devi (28), six-year-old daughter Pallavi and four-year-old son Luv, besides Asrafi Lal (52). Along with this, the tempo driver and three other relatives are also among the dead, who have not been identified yet. All these people were residents of Moosanagar town under Ghatampur police station area of Kanpur Dehat district. Sitting in a tempo from Musanagar on Tuesday morning, they were coming to see a girl for marriage at Baradari in Jehanabad town.
He told that as soon as the information about the incident was received, the police team reached the spot and started relief and rescue work. The injured have been admitted to the Community Health Center Jehanabad. The dead bodies were sent for postmortem and the relatives of the deceased were informed about the incident.
A tweet has been made from the Prime Minister’s Office regarding the Fatehpur incident. It has been said in this that the road accident in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh is very sad. My deepest condolences to those who have lost their families in this. Along with this, I wish the injured a speedy recovery. Under the supervision of the state government, the local administration is fully engaged in helping the victims.
Prime Minister Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the Fatehpur road accident. The Prime Minister has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the accident and Rs 50,000 each to the injured. The PMO tweeted, “The road accident in Fatehpur is extremely sad. My deepest condolences to those who have lost their family members in this. Along with this, I wish the injured a speedy recovery. Under the supervision of the state government, the local administration is fully engaged in helping the victims.
Chief Minister Adityanath tweeted that the loss of lives in the road accident in Fatehpur is extremely sad. My condolences are with the bereaved families. District administration officials have been instructed for proper treatment of the injured. Lord Shriram is prayed to give a place to the departed souls in his holy feet and speedy recovery to the injured.
