New Delhi, 26 April (Hindustan Times). Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India is a country living diversity as a specialty. We celebrate different languages, dialects, arts and subjects. This diversity of ours does not divide us, but strengthens our bond.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed these remarks on Wednesday in the closing ceremony of Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam through video conferencing. The Prime Minister said that we know that when different streams come together, a confluence is created. We have been nurturing these traditions for centuries.
He said that we are moving ahead overcoming all the difficulties. Today we have the target of India of 2047. We have to take the country forward, but on the way there will be forces that break us and people who mislead us. India has the power to innovate even in the most difficult of circumstances.
Prime Minister Modi said that today in the golden age of independence, we are witnessing a new tradition of cultural events like Saurashtra-Tamil Sangamam. This is the confluence of Narmada and Vaigai. It is a combination of Dandiya and Kolattam. The Prime Minister expressed happiness over the event. He said that this is a wonderful initiative. Earlier, Kashi Tamil Sangamam was organized in Banaras. It was discussed all over the country. Today again on the land of Saurashtra we are witnessing the confluence of two ancient streams of India.
He said that this event is not only a celebration of Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam but it is also a celebration of the worship of a Shakti in the form of Goddess Meenakshi and Goddess Parvati. Prime Minister Modi also released the book “Saurashtra-Tamil Sangam Prashasti” of Sri Somnath Sanskrit University during the closing ceremony.
