New Delhi, 25 April (Hindustan). Delhi Capitals captain David Warner has been fined Rs 12 lakh for slow over-rate during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Delhi Capitals captain David Warner has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during their Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. “Warner has been fined Rs 12 lakh as this was his team’s first offense of the season relating to minimum over-rate offenses under the IPL Code of Conduct,” said an official statement issued by the IPL.

Talking about the match, in this match, the Delhi team, batting first, scored 144 runs for 9 wickets. Manish Pandey and Akshar Patel scored maximum 34-34 runs for Delhi. Apart from these two, Captain Warner scored 21 and Mitchell Marsh scored 25 runs. Washington Sundar took 3 wickets, Bhuvneshwar Kumar 2 and T Natarajan took wickets for Hyderabad. Three Delhi batsmen were run out.

In response, the Hyderabad team could only manage 137 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by seven runs. Mayank Agarwal scored the highest 49 runs for Hyderabad. Apart from Mayank, Heinrich Klaasen scored 31 and Washington Sundar scored 24 not out. Akshar Patel and Anrich Nortje took 2-2 wickets for Delhi, while Ishant Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav got 1-1 wickets.
