“I Want” renews its partnership with Qatar Business Incubation Center for a period of 3 years

Ureed has announced the renewal of its partnership with Qatar Business Incubator – affiliated to Qatar Development Bank – for a period of 3 years, according to which the first will continue to provide support and sponsorship services for startups through its “Digital Lighthouse” incubator.
The renewal of the partnership was announced during the event of presenting the digital beacon incubator’s projects, which was held in the “I want” tower on March 29, 2023, in the presence of Sheikh Ali bin Jabr Al Thani, CEO of “I want” Qatar, and Mr. / Abdul Rahman bin Hisham Al Suwaidi, Acting CEO of Qatar Development Bank, and a number of senior officials.
On this occasion, Sheikh Ali bin Jabor Al Thani, CEO of Uredo Qatar, said: “We are pleased to renew the partnership and continue cooperation with Qatar Business Incubation Center. We have contributed together over the past years to the support, sponsorship and success of many startups in Qatar, and we will continue this support in the coming years. At Urudu, we have a firm strategic commitment to investing in innovation and technology, and we fully support our country, Qatar, in its National Vision 2030, one of whose goals is complete digital transformation. Partnerships with institutions such as Qatar Business Incubation Center enable us to make a major contribution to the development of the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem in Qatar.”
Ureed’s partnership with Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC) strengthened in 2016 with the establishment of the “Digital Lighthouse” incubator, with the aim of enabling entrepreneurs to launch new technology-focused projects and businesses in Qatar. Ureed has helped a number of startups in the pre-seed and seed stages to launch and develop their businesses through its incubator, the “Digital Lighthouse”, a specialized initiative aimed at developing and accelerating the business of technology-focused startups in Qatar with the aim of empowering the next generation of companies. Innovative through a comprehensive range of support and financing solutions.
In turn, Mr. Abdul Rahman Hisham Al Suwaidi, Acting CEO of Qatar Development Bank, indicated that the bank’s partnership with “I want” has gained great momentum over the years, “as it moved from an initiative focused on development to an investment initiative that helps startups expand and grow.”
Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Suwaidi said: “Since 2016, Al-Manara Digital Incubator has graduated 116 startups from the Lean Startup and Lean Acceleration programs of Qatar Business Incubation Center. Through this partnership, we are fully committed to empowering the next cohort of technology startups, providing them with the tools to develop, train and mentor capabilities as well as granting them seed funding to grow their businesses, and enabling them to adopt the latest industry-disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things.” .
The “Digital Beacon” incubator, in cooperation with Qatar Business Incubation Center, provides training programs and competitions such as the Hackathon, the Lean Start-up Program, the Lean Acceleration Program, and training programs on readiness for investment, in addition to project presentation events, where startups present an explanation about the project idea in order to obtain support. Funding from the “Digital Lighthouse” incubator. The selected startups are invested and incubated by Qatar Business Incubation Center for one year, and the incubation includes aspects related to training, marketing opportunities and market access.
Sheikh Ali bin Jabr concluded his speech by saying: “We were very pleased to see the progress that our 6 current startups have made so far during the digital incubator presentation event. We are excited to see new projects and ideas explored over the coming years.
